Points of note

As with the Infantry Division, the Armored Division lacked organic Antitank and Anti-aircraft Battalions, which were to be attached from higher Headquarters.  It also shared the characteristic of many early war armoured formations, which emphasised tanks over infantry.  Experience and expediency would see a major change in the organisation of the Armored Division following its first taste of combat in North Africa in 1942.
