Points of note

This slimmed down Division was to become the standard for all German infantry formations.  The Artillery Regiment was very different, incorporating a Battalion equipped with the Pak 40 anti-tank gun.  Divisional reconnaissance was provided by a single reinforced Rifle Company on bicycles.  The venerable 15-cm infantry gun had disappeared from the Regimental Gun Companies, supplanted by the 12-cm mortar.
