The Canadian Infantry Battalion and Motor Battalion, 1943 to 1945

Throughout the war, the Canadian Army modelled its unit organisation closely on that of the British.  In 1943 it was decided that Canadian units and formations would adopt British establishments with only a few relatively minor amendments.

That poses some difficulties for me in describing the Canadian Infantry and Motor Battalion organisations, as they differ so little from those of the The British Army which have already been detailed on the site.  As a result the following pages are based largely on the British equivalents with particular Canadian amendments highlighted.
